Centering Healthcare Institute Training Plans/Workshops We appreciate your interest in Centering. The mission of Centering Healthcare Institute (CHI) is to change the paradigm of health services to a group care model in order to improve the overall health outcomes of mothers, babies, new families and all individuals across the life cycle. We are excited to share our mission with you! We want your site to become a successful, sustainable Centering site. Before you invest lots of time and money, please carefully judge your readiness and commitment to this change. Some very helpful information on the model is available from two archived web casts, available at www.CDNetwork.org Go to Pregnancy/OB-Gyn in the Archive library, "Redesigning Prenatal Care: CenteringPregnancy Session #1 (click here for link) and Session #2" (click here for link) We expect that Centering sites will remain an Institutional Member of CHI (which gives permission to use the name and logo), will purchase and use CHI patient Notebooks with Centering groups, and will complete the Site Approval process within two years of the training workshop. If you are ready to begin planning the development of your Centering program, there are a variety of basic workshops and training options. Current costs quotes are available through jray@centeringhealthcare.org. All basic workshops are conducted by two credentialed CHI faculty members, held for two days, and awarded 1.2 CEUs (12 contact hours) through the American College of Nurse-Midwives. All participants receive an instructional workbook, Centering bag, promotional button, and pen. The training plans available include: (click on plan title for fuller description) 1.
